Vulkaneum – Ich steh´auf Vulkan.

A new central meeting point in the Vogelsberg Volcanic Region Geopark - the Vulkaneum in Schotten! On 1 July 2017, the museum opened its doors to the public. This new information centre in the heart of Schotten combines all activities and information about the Vogelsberg volcano area with the central theme "volcanism and life".

Opening hours

Monday- Friday: 9 am to 6pm

Sat+ Sun+ holiday: 10 am to 6 pm

Last admission: 5 pm

Closed on the 24th, 25th and 31st of December as well as January 1st.

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month a public guided tour is offered at 2 pm. Further guided tours for school classes or adult groups are possible at any time on request.
