After a long, forced break due to Corona, the Geostation Kunstturm in Muecke is pleased to announce that it can proudly present three exhibitions to the art-loving public.
The Muecke Art Tower, known far beyond the borders of the Vogelsberg, has a lot planned for the year 2021! Three artists from national to international reputation show their works from June to October.
Kicking off with Erwin Wortelkamp (June 6th to July 18th) - internationally known for his sculpture park "in the valley" near Hasselbach. The region is not unknown to the artist, he had a guest professorship in Giessen in the early 80s. He likes to work with rough wood and the absence of color, one of his installation is preserved at the Art Tower.
The next exhibition is between July 25th and September 5th, the master student of Dr. Prof Reiner Ruthenbeck Reinhard Hoelker sets a monument to the canaries important in coal mines. These birds made themselves heard when the oxygen underground slowly became scarce. A video installation awaits the visitor to create a diverse and surprising symphony. Students from the surrounding area were also allowed to play an active role here.
The third exhibition this year features Rupprecht Geiger (September 19th to October 31st), with the color "red" in the focus. The representative of non-objective painting exhibits various screen prints, typical form and color motifs from his printmaking work are waiting, also "traces of color" from the studio complete the art exhibition.
This year's sponsors of the program are ArtRegio, Kultursommer Mittelhessen, the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art, and the Geiger Archive. Catalogs for the respective exhibitions are also possible again. The goal of "bringing art back to the Art Tower" is definitely secured this year!
