Literary-musical walk in the Vogelsberg - by Karuszel-Gebirgskulturen as part of the Central Hessian Summer of Culture.

Since the summer of 2020, "The Seven Village Tours" are being offered in the rural municipality of Lautertal - existing places of power in the landscape and settlement are thus linked to each other. Modern "homeland voices" resound, which seem to promise regional identity, orientation and security in a borderless and globalized world. Short readings at selected places are supposed to result in a "second" hike in the mind, which together with the manifold experiences of nature and the extraordinary wide views allow a gentle immersion into the body of the landscape.

The themes of these personal texts by the author Thomas Ruhl primarily revolve around childhood and youth in a Catholic exclave: carnival, family, processions, altar boyism and agriculture. The hike and the texts thus open up a deeper dimension of the "home" landscape and create a fruitful interaction between nature and culture. The path leads through green tunnels, open landscapes with reading stone walls, along streams and ditches, touches the border path between the domain of influence of the prince-bishopric of Fulda (Herbstein) and the dominion fields of the family Riedesel Freiherren zu Eisenbach.

The old boundary stones are still present and are accompanied by a nature trail where about 60 plants can be spotted. Resting places appear frequently: under lush cherry trees, at crossroads, with distant views into the Rhoen and at the edges of the forest, where passages are read. In addition, the duo Berthold Wuensch and Heinz-Willi Peetzen will enrich the hike with sensitive pieces on bagpipes and accordion at very exceptional places or alongside the path. In the middle of the hike, participants will be treated to refreshments (fee 10 €).
