The 2021 season is on!

Just in time for May 1st, the Vulkan-Express kicks off the year - due to the current situation
unfortunately with restrictions:

The Vulkan Express runs through May without a bike trailer and without advance booking.

All six Vulkan Express lines operate as usual until the end of October on all Saturdays,
Sundays and public holidays through the volcanic region, to the local mountain Hoherodskopf
as well as along numerous bike paths.

It is important to avoid large crowds, thus the decision to ride without a bike trailer.
Group rides should not be planned, changes in terms of bicycle transport is left open by the VGO in terms
of further pandemic development, there will be an update in due time. On the buses and at the bus stops,
the current regulations concerning the obligation to wear a mask apply (as of the 29th of April 2021:
If the 7-day incidence in a district or a district-free city exceeds 100 for three days in a row, an FFP2 mask
must be worn from the day after the next, a surgical mask is not sufficient). The same applies to time spent
in trains and on platforms.

The well-known Vulkanfest on May 1st on the Hoherodskopf had to be canceled already in January for this year, one
hope that it can take place as usual again next year.

A brochure for this year's season with all bus line timetables, train schedules and other information
about the Vogelsberg region is available free of charge from the VGO and tourist contact points.
