Where are there volcanoes?

Interested visitors can now find a travelling photo exhibition on this topic in the Museum im Spital in Gruenberg. Between the 25th of September and the 29th of November, the largest coherent volcanic area in Central Europe can be discovered in forty photographs. The exciting insights into the Vogelsberg are completed by rock samples and the model of a volcano, the latter on loan from the Mineralogical Museum of the Philipps University of Marburg.

Curator introductions with Karl-Heinz Rudi (Geostation Kunstturm Muecke, DVG) will take place on the Sundays of October 11 and November 8 at 3 pm.

On Friday, October 23rd at 3 p.m. it is possible to set out on a search for traces on the Ore Trail. The hike takes about 3 hours, meeting point is the parking lot at the Weickartshainer Schweiz. Further information can be found at www.erzwanderweg.de.
