From Saturday, May the 22nd, the geo-info center Vulkaneum in Schotten is finally open again!

A bit of normality returns - in addition to the Vulkaneum, both tourist information offices in the museum and on the local mountain Hoherodskopf are also open to visitors.

There is one exception - the nature experience exhibition on the Hoko is currently not yet accessible, as soon as the situation permits, visitors will be allowed here again.

The following rules apply to visit the Vulkaneum in Schotten:

  •  Admission at this time is only possible with advance reservation and exact time of the visit.
  •  Contact details and number of persons and names of accompanying individuals must be provided. A maximum of 10 persons or 2 households are allowed.
  •  Visitors must either have full COVID-19 vaccination protection (14 days after last vaccination), have recovered from COVID-19, or have a daily Corona test (no more than 24 hours old).

As a general rule, FFP2 masks must be worn in the showrooms and hands must be disinfected before and after the visit. The distance regulation of 1.5m remains in force.

Guided tours of the museum are not (yet) possible at this time.

From June 3rd, the Zoo and Adventure Park Vogelpark in Schotten is also open to visitors again!
